ODIE (Or Does It Explode)

Chloe is the designer behind ODIE. ODIE is a a custom collection of recycled, embroidered pieces designed to shed light on historical untruths & recurrent issues affecting our communities.

“ODIE” is an acronym for “Or Does It Explode,” a line from Langston Hughes' ‘Harlem’ poem & the title of the civil rights chapter of Howard Zinn’s ‘A People’s History of the United States.’

30% of each purchase is donated to New Orleans-based advocacy organizations focused on racial justice, mutual aid, or criminal legal reform in Louisiana. By spreading social justice truths through graphic messaging on clothing, ODIE intends to educate the misinformed through fashion in an assertive, accessible way— one piece at a time.
